The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Js closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Js lands in his opponent's guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Js trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Js throwing strikes but missing. Roy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Roy keeping moving, preventing Js from controlling successfully. Js pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Roy is keeping the position for now. Roy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Js gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Js postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roy is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Js is aware though and is defending well. Roy keeping moving, preventing Js from controlling successfully. Roy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Js doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Js manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Js passes Roy's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Js is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Roy reverses the position - he's now on top in Js's guard. Roy engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Js has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Roy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Js looking for a sweep. Not yet Js, not yet. Roy's corner is telling him to maintain position. Roy passes easily into side control. Nice work. Roy swings around for an armbar but Js sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Roy's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Roy working from the bottom, still in full guard. Js with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Roy keeping moving, preventing Js from controlling successfully. Js postures up and lands a big shot to Roy's brow. Js won't allow Roy to sweep him here. Js got a little sloppy there for a moment and Roy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Js has managed to get both his arms back between Roy's legs - danger averted. Js wants to control from the top but Roy keeps moving. Roy has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Js is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Roy. Roy tries to buck Js off but Js is having none of it.

Js working the ground and pound. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Roy can't do much from the bottom here. Bach Js dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
No luck for Js with that takedown attempt. Js gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Roy decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Js's guard. Roy trying to move into half guard but instead Js has managed to sweep! Roy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Js forces his way into half guard. Roy wants to control but Js is keeping busy.
Roy is refusing to be controlled, as Js sits in half guard. Js missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Roy manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Js wants to control from the top but Roy keeps moving. Js postures up in Roy's guard and throws a big left but Roy blocks it. Roy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Js accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bach Js has got the better of the ground game so far. Js tries to free his leg and advance position but Roy is retaining full guard. Js thows a big elbow that misses. Js trying to control the position from guard on top but Roy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Js defends it easily. Js stopping the sweep attempt from Roy. Js drops back looking for a leg! Roy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Roy manages to kick Js off! Js jumps back into Roy's guard. Js trying to control but Roy is working from the bottom. Roy working a defensive guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Js slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. An elbow from Js crashes against the mat.
Roy is looking to reverse the position. Js wants to control but Roy is keeping him busy. Js with the ground and pound but Roy regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Roy actively working from the bottom here. Js seems to be working for a kimura but Roy defends the submission attempt. Js thows a huge punch but Roy dodges it nicely.

That was a close second round but I would say that Derek Roy will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Js doesn't succeed with the takedown and Roy counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Js's guard now. Js controls Roy momentarily but Roy frees himself. Js pulls Roy in close to prevent any damage. Roy looking to pass the guard. Roy passes into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roy passes the guard and advances to mount! Roy trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Js is controlling an arm, preventing Roy from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Js is looking to get to half guard. Js has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Js bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Js trying to control but Roy is working from the bottom.

Roy working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Js is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roy goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Js rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Roy's guard! Nice work there by Js! Js stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Roy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Roy trying to control the position.
Roy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Js manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Js can't keep his opponent in guard - Roy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Js is looking to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Derek Roy showed his dominance in that final round. I think Roy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by majority decision... Derek Roy! In his post fight interview, Derek Roy started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
