PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Teppo Raju (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brik Holtik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Teppo Raju!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brik Holtik!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Raju.
Holtik lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Raju circles away from the clinch attempt.
Raju fails with the takedown.
Holtik looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Holtik lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Holtik clinches up against the cage.
Holtik with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Holtik escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Holtik clinches up against the cage.
Raju takes an elbow to the forehead.

Holtik manages to break the clinch.
Raju shoots for a double leg takedown but Holtik sprawls well. He's pushed Raju's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Teppo Raju. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Raju drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Holtik manages to work his way to half guard, despite Raju's best efforts.

Raju is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Holtik is just riding it out for now. Raju eventually gives up the hold.
Raju is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Raju wants to control but Holtik is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Raju is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Holtik doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Raju.
Raju wants to free his trapped foot but Holtik is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Holtik trying to hold on to Raju's head to control him but Raju postures up.
Holtik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Raju. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Holtik controlling the position for now.
Holtik pushes Raju off looking to stand but Raju dives back in and keeps control.
Raju passes to full mount!

Raju goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Holtik turns into him and now he's in Raju's guard.
Raju looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Raju throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Holtik decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Raju looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Holtik closes the distance and clinches.
Raju is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Holtik gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Raju drags the fight down to the ground.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Raju has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Holtik can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Holtik is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Raju has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Holtik is looking to defend but Raju has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Holtik! Raju pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Holtik taps out and this one is all over!
