Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sepp Maier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Minard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maier comes to the cage accompanied by Apaga mas não bate. The crowd seem to be enjoying Minard's choice of entrance music: I Against I. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

13 - 14 - 1, fighting out of London, Anderson Minard! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Minard throws out a loose jab but Maier uses good head movement to avoid it. Minard throws a solid leg kick but Maier takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Minard. Nice sprawl there from Minard as Maier shoots in. Maier doesn't succeed with the takedown and Minard counters with a low kick, right behind Maier 's knee. Maier uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Minard.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maier. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sepp Maier. That's going to take a lot out of him. Minard doesn't succeed with the takedown so Maier counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Anderson Minard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Maier tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Minard swivels and escapes. Horrible takedown by Maier or perhaps it was just good defense by Minard which made him look bad. Maier gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Minard counters with a body kick that stops Maier in his tracks momentarily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sepp Maier. That's going to take a lot out of him. Maier shoots for a double leg takedown but Minard sprawls well. He's pushed Maier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Maier is defended easily by Minard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maier drops back looking for a leg! Minard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Minard manages to kick Maier off! Maier jumps back into Minard's guard. Minard utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Minard is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Maier throws a big right hand that misses.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maier accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Maier works a leg free and moves into half guard. Minard leaves Maier with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Minard keeps Maier at a distance using the push kick. Minard misses with a hook. Left hook, right uppercut from Minard. No luck for Maier with that takedown attempt.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Minard rushes Maier and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Minard is fighting off a takedown attempt but Maier is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Minard to the mat. Minard regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Minard keeping full guard, as Maier tries to pass. Maier postures up in Minard's guard and throws a big left but Minard blocks it.

Sepp Maier overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Minard wants to stand and escape but Maier is having none of it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Maier works over Minard with some ground and pound from guard. Maier postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Minard is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Maier, into his guard. Maier wants to sweep but no luck. Minard stands and steps away. Maier gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Maier tries to clinch but Minard moves away and Maier takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Minard lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Maier decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Minard is trying to maintain the position but Maier is very close to passing his half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Minard has hold of Maier's hands but Maier slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maier thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Minard's head. Maier is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Maier is nestled in close to Minard, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Anderson Minard. I think Minard has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
