Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Stann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belfort comes to the cage accompanied by Simple Man. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort connects with a crisp jab.

Stann gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Stann is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Belfort trying to control but Stann is working from the bottom.
Belfort is looking to work some ground and pound but Stann has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Belfort stands and steps away. Stann gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Stann gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Belfort to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Belfort tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stann swivels and escapes.
Stann uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Belfort.

Belfort changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Belfort. Stann does a little dance to reset his feet.
Stann just misses with a punch to the body.
Stann rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Belfort moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Belfort shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Stann's guard.

Stann wants to stand and escape but Belfort is having none of it.

Stann is looking to stand back up but Belfort counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Stann.
Belfort is stalling here. Stann is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Belfort seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Stann has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Stann really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Belfort. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Stann is keen to just control but Belfort is a slippery customer.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stann on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Belfort. Belfort obviously looking to wear him down.
Stann on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Stann takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Belfort dives in and grabs Stann's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stann pushes down on Belfort's head and hops out.
