Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ford Prefect (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toon Wing Sum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Prefect might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mos Def - Mathematics. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prefect swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sum walks into a jab.
Prefect lands with a good body shot.
A combination from Sum does no damage.
Sum thows a body shot but no joy.
Sum shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Prefect as he jumps to the side.
Prefect lands with a shot to the body.
Sum shoots in but Prefect avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Prefect connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sum momentarily.
Prefect lands a jab to the head.
Prefect stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sum looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Prefect is fending him off so far but Sum persists. Nope, Prefect circles away and we're back to standing.
Ford Prefect has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Toon Wing Sum.

Prefect throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

It looks like Ford Prefect has been cut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sum has hold of Prefect's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Prefect manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Toon Wing Sum showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
