Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Geist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxim Mailov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Geist shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Geist swings and misses with a hook to the body.
An inside leg kick lands from Mailov.
Mailov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mailov wants it to stay on the feet.
Geist shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mailov counters with a good low kick that Geist was not able to check.

Geist throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mailov was covering up waiting for the punch and Geist finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mailov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mailov wants to control but Geist postures up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Geist postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Geist fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Geist throws a hook to the side of Mailov's head but Mailov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mailov works the jab nicely.
Mailov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Geist looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mailov is fending him off so far but Geist persists. Nope, Mailov circles away and we're back to standing.
Mailov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Geist manages to avoid it.

Mailov thuds his right hand into Geist's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Geist takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Mailov throws the left hand but Geist avoids the punch easily.

Geist keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Geist shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mailov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Mailov stuffs the takedown attempt from Geist. Geist gets slowly back to his feet.
Geist sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Geist ducks under a wild hook from Mailov.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mailov. Geist does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mailov fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Geist.
Geist shoots in looking for a takedown but Mailov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Geist's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Geist tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mailov was well out of range. Poor timing from Geist.
Mailov looks to land a combination. Geist sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

and Mailov counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Mailov steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Geist.
Geist missing with a left hand there. Mailov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Maxim Mailov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Geist's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Geist fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Geist throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mailov's waist but Mailov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Geist off to one side.

Geist shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Mailov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Geist shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Geist was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mailov is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
A big strike lands for Geist! That's really hurt Mailov and he's turned his back - Geist keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Geist jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
