Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masaru Yuudai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Amadeus Iwazaka! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Iwazaka takes the fight into the clinch. Iwazaka breaks from the clinch.
Yuudai shoots for a double leg takedown but Iwazaka sprawls well. He's pushed Yuudai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Yuudai looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Iwazaka is fending him off so far but Yuudai persists. Nope, Iwazaka circles away and we're back to standing. Yuudai shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Iwazaka but Iwazaka pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Masaru Yuudai. That's going to take a lot out of him. Yuudai shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Yuudai tries for a takedown but Iwazaka sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Masaru Yuudai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Yuudai shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Iwazaka but Iwazaka pushes him off and we're back to square one. Yuudai is breathing heavily. Iwazaka gets the takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Iwazaka lands a decent elbow from side control. The strikes coming from Iwazaka are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Yuudai is trying to control Iwazaka's posture but Iwazaka avoids it. Iwazaka lands an elbow. Iwazaka creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Iwazaka working the ground and pound. Iwazaka lands a few punches from side control. Iwazaka misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Iwazaka is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Yuudai knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Iwazaka sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Yuudai is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Iwazaka lands a few punches from side control. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Iwazaka landing a few strikes. Iwazaka in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Yuudai tries to improve position but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. An elbow from Iwazaka crashes against the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Yuudai keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Yuudai gets back to full guard.
Iwazaka is looking to work some ground and pound but Yuudai has wrist control. Yuudai bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Iwazaka's guard. Yuudai won't allow Iwazaka to sweep him here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yuudai trying to control the position from guard on top but Iwazaka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yuudai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Iwazaka swivels though and keeps the full guard. Yuudai thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Iwazaka looking for a sweep. Not yet Iwazaka, not yet. Yuudai trying to control but Iwazaka is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Yuudai tries for a takedown but Iwazaka circles away easily and Iwazaka counters with a shoot takedown. Yuudai fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Iwazaka looking to pass the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Iwazaka throwing strikes but missing. Yuudai trying to control the position.
Iwazaka pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yuudai is keeping the position for now. Yuudai is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Yuudai looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Yuudai is working hard here to advance position. Iwazaka is looking to work some ground and pound but Yuudai has wrist control. Yuudai not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Yuudai looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Iwazaka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yuudai. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Iwazaka in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Yuudai lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Iwazaka!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yuudai working for a submission but Iwazaka is keeping him at bay. Yuudai prevents Iwazaka from getting the reversal. Yuudai takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
A lull in the action here.
Yuudai is looking for the choke from the back position but Iwazaka is controlling his hands well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Iwazaka tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Yuudai takes Iwazaka's back. I really don't envy Iwazaka right now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Yuudai trying to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Masaru Yuudai dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Yuudai shoots and misses and Iwazaka counters with a nice double leg into side control. Yuudai won't be happy with that. Iwazaka tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Yuudai takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Yuudai is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Yuudai sneaks back into half guard. Iwazaka has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Masaru Yuudai overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Iwazaka connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

This has been an exciting period of action! Yuudai tries to get back to half guard but can't. Yuudai is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Iwazaka dominating with strikes here. Iwazaka lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Yuudai hang on? A nice elbow there by Iwazaka.
Yuudai is rocked! Yuudai is trying desperately to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Iwazaka lands a big shot there that rocks Yuudai but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Oh Yuudai is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! BOOM! Iwazaka connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Yuudai seems to have got his legs back now. A nice elbow there by Iwazaka. Iwazaka in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Iwazaka has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Yuudai's face.
Yuudai wants to hold on but Iwazaka pushes him away. Iwazaka looking to ground and pound but Yuudai is blocking nicely. Iwazaka avoids the attempt from Yuudai to control. Yuudai is trying to escape the mount.
Yuudai wants to control but Iwazaka is having none of it. Yuudai regains half guard. Yuudai makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Yuudai. Iwazaka content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Iwazaka with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yuudai utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Iwazaka postures up.
Yuudai is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Iwazaka rolls with it to try and escape but Yuudai cranks on the arm and Iwazaka is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
