Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robin Hood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hughes has chosen We're Not Gonna Fall as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Robin Hood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pat Hughes! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hood loads up on a big right hand but Hughes slips the punch. A big left from Hood misses. Hughes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hughes wants to pass the guard but Hood is keeping the position. Hughes prevents Hood from getting back to his feet. Hood working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hughes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hughes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hughes postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hood is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hughes, into his guard. Hughes working for a triangle but Hood defends it easily.
Hood wants to stand and escape but instead Hughes has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes trying to control but Hood is working from the bottom. Hughes throwing strikes from guard but Hood blocks nicely. Hughes won't allow Hood to sweep him here. Hood has his hands on Hughes's head, controlling the position. Hood is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hughes looking to sit in guard and control but Hood gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hood wants to stand but Hughes is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hughes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hughes looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hughes working a defensive guard but Hood passes into half guard.

Hood is looking to advance position but Hughes won't allow it. Hughes is trying to get back to full guard. Hood tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hughes controls his leg.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hughes moves out of range of the strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. A chopping leg kick lands by Hood. Hughes ducks under a wild hook from Hood. Hood misses with the combination.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hood but Hood pushes him off and we're back to square one. Robin Hood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hughes moves away from the strike by Hood. Hood just misses with a punch to the body.

Hood throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hood stuffs the takedown. Robin Hood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pat Hughes. Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hood as he avoids it easily. Hood throws a series of punches but Hughes avoids them all with ease. Hood bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hughes's head. Hood looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hughes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Hughes is thwarting Hood's attempts to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hughes throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Hood looks like he's trying to stand up.

Hughes drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hood dives on top into guard. Hughes tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hughes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hughes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hood manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Robin Hood will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Hood rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hughes moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hood throws a leg kick but Hughes sees it coming and checks it nicely. Hood tries a head kick but it misses.
Hughes feints and as Hood raises his hands in defense, Hughes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Hughes sitting in guard here, content to control. Hughes wants to control from the top but Hood keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hood working a defensive guard here.
Hood wants to get back to his feet but Hughes is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hughes stands and throws Hood's legs to the side, diving into side control. Hood tries to improve position but can't. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hughes tries to advance to mount but Hood denies him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes is looking to take a break and control but Hood is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hughes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Hood wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Hughes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Hood throws Hughes to one side and escapes! No luck for Hughes with that takedown attempt. Hughes looks for a takedown but Hood sprawls well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hood throws out a loose jab but Hughes uses good head movement to avoid it. Pat Hughes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hughes has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hood finds it's way round the side to connect with Hughes's head. Hood misses with a straight left. A cross from Hood lands. A chopping leg kick lands by Hood. Hood throws a hook to the side of Hughes's head but Hughes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Robin Hood is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hood with a body punch. A glancing blow. Hughes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hood swivels and escapes. Robin Hood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pat Hughes. Hood scores with a sloppy right hand. Hughes should have avoided that one. Hood paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Hughes slips under a jab from Hood. A combination from Hood does no damage. Hood looks to score with a jab to the body but Hughes is just out of range. Hood connects with a nice looking jab.
Hood bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Hughes! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Hughes is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Hughes keeping moving, preventing Hood from controlling successfully. Hughes is still in real trouble! Can Hood finish him? Hughes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hood manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hood pulls Hughes in to control the position. Hughes seems to have recovered his senses. Hughes has gone for a leg lock! Hood slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hughes's guard. Hughes wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Hood is now in half guard. Hughes is staying active underneath Hood, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hughes tries to roll over but Hood keeps him under control. Hughes works his way to full guard. Good work. Hughes looking for a sweep. Not yet Hughes, not yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hughes wants to control the position but Hood says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Hughes wants to improve his position but Hood is controlling well.
Hughes gets back to full guard.
Hood sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hughes wants to sweep but no luck. Hughes has his foot on Hood's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hood works his way back into a safe position though. Hood stands and steps away. Hughes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hood lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Hood throws a sloppy head kick and Hughes moves out of range easily. Hughes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hood is fending him off so far but Hughes persists. Nope, Hood circles away and we're back to standing. Hood misses with an uppercut. Hood throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robin Hood dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hood gets caught flat footed, as Hughes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Hughes wants to pass the guard but Hood is keeping the position. Hood keeping moving, preventing Hughes from controlling successfully. Hughes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hood keeping full guard, as Hughes tries to pass. Hood wants to sweep but no luck. Hughes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hood keeping moving, preventing Hughes from controlling successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hood is looking to stand up but Hughes isn't so interested in that idea. Hughes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hood with a body punch. A glancing blow. Hood will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Hughes darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Hughes content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Hughes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hood is just riding it out for now. Hughes eventually gives up the hold. Hood kicks off Hughes and gets to his feet. Hughes shoots in but Hood avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hughes looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hood!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Hood is forced to tap! Great finish!
