Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and XX counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
XX tries a head kick but it misses.
Maia is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by XX.
XX throws a front kick aimed at Maia's knee but Maia avoids it well.
XX is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
XX throws out a leg kick but Maia moves out of range and XX only half commits.

Maia fails with a takedown attempt.
XX throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Maia circles away from the clinch attempt.

Maia gets a takedown into half guard.
XX is trying to control but can't.
XX is in trouble now - Maia has advanced to mount!
XX is desperately trying to improve his position but Maia has a good base and remains in mount.
XX tries to hold on but Maia postures up.

XX lands an elbow that stopped Maia in his tracks for a moment.

Maia throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. XX tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Maia is in XX's guard.
Maia slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Maia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because Julius Maia wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Maia chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before XX can pounce on him.

Citizen XX showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

and XX counters with a head kick.

Maia misses with a hook. XX ducked under it nicely.
XX displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Maia.

Maia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? XX is fending him off so far but Maia persists. Nope, XX circles away and we're back to standing.

XX goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Julius Maia has been cut.
Maia looks to score with a jab to the body but XX is just out of range.

Maia is rocked!
Citizen XX seems to be getting the better of the standup.
XX connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Oh Maia is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
XX throws a sloppy head kick and Maia moves out of range easily.
Maia seems to have got his legs back now.
XX slips a jab from Maia.
Maia throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Maia avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

XX keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julius Maia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maia blocks a low kick nicely.
XX looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Maia shoots in looking for a takedown. XX tries to sprawl out of it but Maia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. XX manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

XX pushes Maia away with a front kick.
Maia throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Citizen XX comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think XX has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
