Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
15 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Takanori Gomi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

19 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy McDonald!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
McDonald throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gomi's waist but Gomi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McDonald off to one side.
McDonald throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gomi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Gomi throws a nice head kick!
Gomi pushes McDonald up against the cage in a clinch.
Gomi keeps the fight in the clinch, despite McDonald's efforts to push away.
McDonald is trying to drag Gomi to the mat but Gomi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Gomi scores with a shoulder strike.
Gomi pushes McDonald back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
McDonald drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gomi gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Takanori Gomi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommy McDonald.
McDonald is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on McDonald's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Gomi scores with an uppercut up the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round.
McDonald is trying to break free.
McDonald changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gomi fights it off and pushes away nicely.
McDonald scores with a punch to the head.
Gomi scores with a head kick. McDonald tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Tommy McDonald has been cut.
Gomi fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

McDonald shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gomi pinned against the cage. Gomi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gomi scores with a shot to the body.
Gomi connects with a right that clearly hurt McDonald. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Gomi proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till McDonald collapses and taps out under the pressure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Takanori Gomi!
