Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Lotus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lotus has chosen Eye of the tiger as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryan Sherk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 18 - 1, fighting out of London, Tommy Lotus! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Sherk misses its intended target. Lotus lands with a right hand. The fight stays on the outside here - Lotus looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A swing and a miss from Sherk. Lotus moves in looking to clinch but Sherk pushes him off. Sherk just misses with a punch to the body.
Lotus avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Sherk scores with a body shot.
Sherk stuffs the takedown. Lotus moves away from the strike by Sherk. Lotus walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. A slow jab from Sherk misses its intended target. Lotus wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sherk shoots in and drives through. Lotus sprawls well. Sherk shoots for a takedown but Lotus saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lotus tries to clinch up but Sherk circles away and keeps his distance. Sherk looks to land a right hand but Lotus moved out of range. Sherk scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. A slow jab from Lotus misses its intended target. Lotus keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bryan Sherk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sherk swings widly with a right hand
and Lotus counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Sherk drives through with a takedown into Lotus's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Lotus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lotus is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lotus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sherk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sherk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sherk content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sherk is looking to work some ground and pound but Lotus has wrist control. Sherk in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Lotus wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Sherk manages to pass to side control. Lotus regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lotus looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sherk is one step ahead there. Sherk wants to pass the guard but Lotus is keeping the position. Lotus wants to sweep here but Sherk controlling him for the moment. Sherk pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lotus is keeping the position for now. Lotus keeping moving, preventing Sherk from controlling successfully. Sherk pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lotus is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sherk seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Sherk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lotus swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lotus is trying to control the position but Sherk postures up.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Tommy Lotus hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Lotus wants to clinch. Lotus instigates a clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sherk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bryan Sherk will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Lotus looks to score with a jab to the body but Sherk is just out of range. Sherk scores with a punch to the head. Lotus walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Sherk swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Lotus throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sherk tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lotus is in Sherk's guard. Sherk keeping moving, preventing Lotus from controlling successfully. Sherk manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lotus manages to get himself to full guard.
Lotus throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sherk escapes and throws Lotus's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Sherk is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Lotus is trying to escape and Sherk transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Lotus is forced to tap! Nice work there by Sherk! Very nice indeed!
