Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between mujo Haso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasgen Umarov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasgen Umarov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, mujo Haso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vasgen Umarov!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Umarov shoots in for a takedown but Haso shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Haso throws a right and a left that Umarov avoids nicely.

Umarov drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Umarov throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Haso is trying to improve his position.

Umarov throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Haso is looking for a sweep.
Haso takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Haso knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Umarov on the ground.
Haso parries the strikes from Umarov easily there. Umarov is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Haso to escape.
The strikes coming from Umarov are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Umarov in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Haso tries to buck Umarov off but Umarov is having none of it.
Haso manages to work his way to half guard, despite Umarov's best efforts.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Haso is breathing heavily.
Haso is looking for a sweep. Umarov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Umarov connects with a nice short shot to Haso's temple.
Umarov not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Haso is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Umarov scores with a couple of nice shots.
Umarov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Haso's head.

Umarov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Haso with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Umarov is nestled in close to Haso, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Umarov misses with a head shot. Haso uses the momentum to regain guard.
Umarov is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Umarov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Umarov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Oh Haso is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Umarov postures up and lands a big shot to Haso's brow.

Umarov distracts Haso with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Umarov arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Haso's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Vasgen Umarov!
