The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirkham misses the jab.
Kirkham tries for a takedown but Mills sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mills defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kirkham.
Kirkham misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mills is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mills lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Kirkham or not.

Kirkham jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mills walks away with a smile on his face. Kirkham gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kirkham shoots for a double leg takedown but Mills sprawls well. He's pushed Kirkham's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Well Mills has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
