PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cyril Salace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Bobby Moore was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Cyril Salace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobby Moore!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moore throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A jab from Moore does it's job there.
Salace ducks right into an uppercut from Moore.
Bobby Moore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Moore scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Salace doesn't seem bothered though.
Moore misses with a jab, cross combination.
Moore swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A combination from Moore does no damage.
Moore throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Salace.
Salace shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Moore counters with a straight right hand.


Cyril Salace's cut is getting worse.
Moore fails to land with a series of punches.
Moore throws a nice looking combination but Salace bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Moore scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Salace takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Salace dodges the punch combination from Moore.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Salace.
Moore bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Salace closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Moore quickly recovers to half guard.
Moore is looking for a sweep. Salace is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Salace seems to be working for a kimura but Moore defends the submission attempt.

Salace is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Salace works his way into side control.

Salace is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Moore is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Salace trying to control the position but Moore is working away.

Salace wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Moore, who protects the arm well.
Moore is not content to let Salace control the position.

Moore is trying to get back to half guard.
Moore is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Salace swings around for an armbar but Moore sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Salace's guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Moore won't allow Salace to sweep him here.
Moore wanted to stand there but Salace had control of the position.

Moore stands and steps away. Salace gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Salace moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.


Cyril Salace's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Salace slips a jab and a cross from Moore.
Bobby Moore is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Moore works over Salace's head and body with a nice combination.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Moore tries to bum rush Salace with a series of wild strikes but Salace uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Moore throws a right and a left that both miss.
Salace takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Moore punishes Salace's body with a nice straight punch.
Moore will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Salace takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Moore's jab looks to have found its range, popping Salace under the eye.
Moore scores with a one two! Salace had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Salace darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Salace is working for a submission of some sort.

Salace is keen to just control but Moore is a slippery customer.
Salace is really struggling to control Moore but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Salace prevents Moore from standing back up.

Salace is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Moore sees it coming and defends easily.

Moore makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Salace fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Moore!

A punch combination from Moore misses.
Bobby Moore seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Salace takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Salace doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Moore cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cyril Salace is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Moore misses with a double jab.
Sloppy strikes from Moore. Those never looked like landing.
Moore throws a one two combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Salace closes the distance and clinches.

Moore works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Salace wants to sweep here but Moore controlling him for the moment.
Moore has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Salace is proving hard to escape from.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Salace has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Moore can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Salace has his foot on Moore's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Moore works his way back into a safe position though.

Salace is working an open guard so Moore takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Salace has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Moore uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Moore lands a jab.


Jeez, Cyril Salace's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Moore looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Moore tests Salace's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Left hook, right uppercut from Moore.
Salace gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Moore counters with a straight right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cyril Salace. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Salace closes the distance and clinches up with Moore, looking for a takedown. Salace pushes Moore against the cage but Moore circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Moore's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Moore duly obliges.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Moore showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Moore looks to land a combination. Salace sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Salace avoids a punch combination nicely.
Moore has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Moore scores with a body shot.
Moore lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Salace shoots in looking for a takedown. Moore tries to sprawl out of it but Salace keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Moore manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Salace doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Salace takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Moore wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Salace looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
A punch combination from Moore misses.
Moore jabs Salace to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Nice straight punches there by Moore. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Moore.
Moore lands a jab-cross combination.
Moore moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Cyril Salace's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
