Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruben Valderon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Rogers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ruben Valderon! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers avoids a punch combination nicely.
Valderon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to avoid it but Valderon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rogers to the ground. Rogers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ruben Valderon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Valderon shoots in and bounces Rogers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Valderon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rogers swivels though and keeps the full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Valderon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Valderon wants to pass the guard but Rogers is keeping the position. Rogers can't keep his opponent in guard - Valderon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Valderon decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Valderon fails with a takedown attempt. Valderon looks gassed! Rogers misses with a combination
and Valderon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Valderon.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valderon wants to get up but he can't break Rogers's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Rogers wants to stand but Valderon is controlling the position. Valderon scoring with some ground and pound. Rogers avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. We're back to striking at a distance. Valderon fails with a takedown attempt. Valderon closes the distance and clinches up with Rogers, looking for a takedown. Valderon pushes Rogers against the cage but Rogers circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Valderon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rogers as he jumps to the side. Nice sprawl there from Rogers as Valderon shoots in. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Valderon crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Rogers - the referee stops the clock and Valderon gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Rogers. Valderon manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Rogers scores with a three punch combo!
Valderon shoots in for a double leg but Rogers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rogers is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valderon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rogers as he jumps to the side. Nice sprawl there from Rogers as Valderon shoots in. Rogers throws a series of punches but Valderon avoids them all with ease. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Valderon. Rogers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rogers throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Valderon stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Rogers follows into mount! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Valderon tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Valderon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Valderon is squirming around, avoiding Rogers's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's better than Valderon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogers is bucking up trying to escape but Valderon cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Rogers wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

The referee warns Rogers that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Rogers wants to hold on but Valderon pushes him away. Valderon unloading with bombs! Oh Rogers is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Valderon is in the full mount, landing strikes.
