Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Papke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Karl Papke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Silva!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Silva tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Silva managing to block the knees to the body from Papke.
Papke tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A frustrated look appears on Papke's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Papke drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Papke on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Silva lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Papke tries for a takedown but Silva manages to get underhooks.

Papke tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Papke drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Silva gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Silva throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Papke blocks it with crossed arms.

Silva tightens his grip and picks Papke up, before dumping him to the ground. Papke manages to land in guard.
Silva wants to control from the top but Papke keeps moving.
Silva drops back looking for a leg! Papke is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Papke manages to kick Silva off! Silva jumps back into Papke's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Papke is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.
Silva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Silva drops back looking for a leg! Papke is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Papke manages to kick Silva off! Silva jumps back into Papke's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Papke is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Papke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Silva drops back looking for a leg! Papke is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Papke manages to kick Silva off! Silva jumps back into Papke's guard.
Silva stands and throws Papke's legs to the side, diving into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Papke is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Silva looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Papke's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Papke is trying to buck Silva off.
Papke is trying to escape the position but Silva is controlling the position.
Papke is trying to get back to his feet.
Papke knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Papke is defending well.

Papke throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Papke pushes Silva away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Silva gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Silva is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Papke has escaped the position, nice work there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Papke wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Silva is working to tighten is grip on Papke's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Papke has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Silva is really squeezing tight and eventually Papke passes out! Silva breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
