Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rick Ruude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ganon Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Ruude!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ganon Matsumoto!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruude is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Matsumoto swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ruude counters with a straight right hand.
Ruude connects with a leg kick. Matsumoto looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Matsumoto fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ruude throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Matsumoto lands a nice hook to Ruude's body. Ruude takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Matsumoto throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Matsumoto throws a right hand that Ruude ducks under and follows up with a left that Ruude also avoids with ease.

Ruude drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ruude lands a couple of elbows.
Matsumoto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ruude. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Matsumoto is trying to control the position from the bottom.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Matsumoto can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ruude slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Ruude sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Matsumoto's guard.
Ruude throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ruude keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruude works his way into side control.
Matsumoto takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Matsumoto is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ruude connects with a decent elbow.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ruude remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Ruude connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Matsumoto some visible discomfort.

Ruude in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Matsumoto looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Ruude turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
