PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Amidal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amo Resbroko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amidal comes to the cage accompanied by Act Like You Know. Resbroko has chosen Trillseeka as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joey Amidal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Amo Resbroko!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy left from Amidal finds it's target.
Resbroko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Amidal paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Resbroko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Amidal pinned against the cage. Amidal gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Resbroko on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Amidal walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Resbroko checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Resbroko moves out of range of the body kick.
Resbroko takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Resbroko takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Amidal does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Resbroko takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Resbroko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Amidal.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Amidal lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Resbroko at a distance.

Amidal throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Resbroko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Resbroko lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Amidal!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Resbroko enables Amidal to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Resbroko manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Resbroko shoots in looking for a takedown. Amidal tries to sprawl out of it but Resbroko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Amidal manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Amidal.

Resbroko rushes Amidal and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joey Amidal.
I think Amidal has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
