PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ellis Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson has chosen Meet the Monster by Five Finger Death Punch as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Matt Anderson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ellis Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Anderson misses with a looping left.
A shot to de liver by Stone. Beautiful body shot.
Stone tries for a takedown but Anderson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Anderson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Stone scoring with punches to the head and body.
Anderson keeping moving, preventing Stone from controlling successfully.

Anderson has his foot on Stone's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stone works his way back into a safe position though.
Stone content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Anderson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Stone trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stone scoring with punches to the head and body.
Anderson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Stone landing with the ground and pound.
Anderson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stone is controlling him.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stone's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Stone working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Anderson's head.
Stone has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Stone lands a couple of digs.
Stone loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Anderson throws his legs up looking for a submission but Stone uses it to pass to side control.
Anderson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Stone looks up at the clock and then as Anderson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Stone smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Anderson wants to control but Stone postures up.
Stone grinds an elbow into Anderson's temple.
Stone landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Stone lands a few punches from side control.
Anderson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stone wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Anderson looks gassed!

Stone has hold of Anderson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Anderson seems comfortable defending it but Stone has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Anderson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Anderson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Stone couldn't care less - he's delighted!
