The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jelani slips a straight right by Kronic.

and Kronic decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jelani's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

No joy there for Jelani, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Kronic decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kronic is trying to control the action in half guard but Jelani is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kronic has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jelani pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kronic sizes up Jelani with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

It looks like Jabari Jelani has been cut.
Jelani misses with the combination.
Kronic lands with a cross.
Kronic shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jelani as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chronic Kronic. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jelani closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Chronic Kronic has been cut.

Kronic drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kronic wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jelani, who protects the arm well.

Chronic Kronic dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

A punch combination from Kronic misses.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jelani enables Kronic to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jelani manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kronic lands a couple of elbows.
Kronic passes into half guard.
Kronic will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kronic thows a huge punch but Jelani dodges it nicely.
Chronic Kronic overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kronic works his way into side control.
Jelani takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kronic misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kronic creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jelani sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Kronic lands a few punches from side control.

That has opened up Jabari Jelani's cut even more.
Jelani on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Jabari Jelani's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jabari Jelani's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
