Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dale Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dale Peters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peters sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.
Peters shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Johnson as he avoids it easily.
Johnson is looking to clinch.
Peters tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Peters gets tackled into the cage by Johnson. Johnson maintains the clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Johnson.

Johnson tightens his grip and picks Peters up, before dumping him to the ground. Peters manages to land in guard.
Peters keeping full guard, as Johnson tries to pass.
Johnson cracks Peters with a solid left hand.
Johnson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Peters's head.
Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Peters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Peters wants to stand but Johnson is controlling the position.
Johnson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Peters manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Johnson clinches.
Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Peters walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Crunch! Peters slams his shin into Johnson's torso.
Johnson misses with a series of wild punches.
Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Peters avoids it really well and circles away.
Dale Peters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Johnson.
Peters throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson.
Peters is looking to clinch.
Johnson keeps the fight on the outside.
Johnson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Peters.
Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Johnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet.

Johnson keeps the fight on the outside.
Peters shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Peters gets caught flat footed, as Johnson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Johnson looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson prevents Peters from getting back to his feet.
Peters looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Peters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Peters kicks Johnson off and gets to his feet.
A head kick from Peters lands but Johnson takes it in his stride.
Peters tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance.
Peters fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Peters napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Peters is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Johnson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Johnson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Peters has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Johnson but great work by Peters.

Peters decides to stand back up. Peters steps back and let's Johnson get back to his feet.
Peters tries to clinch but Johnson moves out of range.
Peters fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Johnson clinches up with Peters and pushes him back against the cage.
Peters tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Johnson pulls guard effortlessly.

Peters gets to his feet - Johnson follows without any prompting.
Peters delivers a nice body kick.
Peters tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.
Peters shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnson rushes Peters and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Johnson goes for a takedown attempt but Peters pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
No luck for Peters with that takedown attempt.

Peters feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peters stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Peters moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off.
No luck for Peters with that takedown attempt.
Peters shoots and misses

and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Peters won't be happy with that.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Johnson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Peters down.
The ground and pound from Johnson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Peters lands an elbow from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Nate Johnson will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


A solid leg kick lands there for Peters.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Johnson.
Peters tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches.
Johnson tries for a takedown but Peters manages to get underhooks.
Peters is looking to control Johnson's arms but Johnson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Peters has his back to the cage.
Peters throws an elbow but it misses.
Johnson goes for a takedown attempt but Peters pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Peters scores with a kick to the body.
Peters tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Johnson drives through with a takedown into Peters's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Johnson is looking to work some ground and pound but Peters has wrist control.

Peters has his feet on Johnson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Peters fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Peters leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Peters throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Peters off to one side.

Peters shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Peters was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Peters working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Johnson turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Peters off and cradles Johnson's limp body as Peters celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Dale Peters!
A less than humble Dale Peters misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
