Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tunturi Pony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramsey Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tunturi Pony is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tunturi Pony!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ramsey Wood!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Pony as Wood shoots in.
Wood shoots for a double leg takedown but Pony sprawls well. He's pushed Wood's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Wood bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Pony throws a right hand that misses

and Wood counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pony!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pony sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Pony is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pony trying to get back to full guard but Wood takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Pony tries to hold on but Wood postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wood thowing shots but they're missing.
Pony is squirming around, avoiding Wood's attempts to control the action.
Wood landing strikes from the mount.
Wood can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pony is looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pony holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Wood tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Wood wants to control the pace but Pony is squirming around nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wood throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Wood trying to control but Pony is having none of it.
Wood prevents Pony from getting the reversal.
Pony wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Wood.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pony tries to reverse the position but Wood maintains control.
Pony holds on to Wood around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.
Pony is squirming around, avoiding Wood's attempts to control the action.
Pony wants to control but Wood is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ramsey Wood dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Wood closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pony works his way to full guard. Good work.
Pony is adopting a defensive guard.
Wood stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pony swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pony tries to strike from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wood trying to control the position from guard on top but Pony is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ramsey Wood was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Wood closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pony circles away.
Pony fails with a takedown attempt.
Pony circles away from the clinch attempt
enabling Pony to counter with a crisp jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pony throws a lazy right hand but Wood sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Pony gets caught flat footed, as Wood shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Wood controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pony keeping moving, preventing Wood from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Wood preventing the sweep.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ramsey Wood was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Pony avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wood uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pony.

Wood manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Pony on his heels. He'll look to pass Pony's guard now, I'm sure.
Pony keeping moving, preventing Wood from controlling successfully.
Wood in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pony looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Wood trying to control the position from guard on top but Pony is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ramsey Wood.
Pony connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Pony closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wood to the mat! Wood manages to get full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pony trying to control but Wood is working from the bottom.
Pony postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pony might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pony with a flurry of punches that miss.
Pony trying to control but Wood is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tunturi Pony will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Pony throws a hook to the side of Wood's head but Wood sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A swing and a miss from Pony.

Pony looking to score a takedown here. Wood is defending well but Pony drives through and ends up in Wood's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wood throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Wood controls Pony momentarily but Pony frees himself.
Pony controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Pony is looking to work some ground and pound but Wood has wrist control.

Pony landing some decent shots from guard.
Wood looking to control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ramsey Wood wasn't active enough on the ground.
Wood fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Pony lands with a shot to the body.
Pony darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Pony stuffs the takedown attempt from Wood. Wood gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice sprawl there from Pony as Wood shoots in.
Tunturi Pony has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramsey Wood.
Wood takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pony misses the jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wood uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pony.
Wood shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pony as he avoids it easily.
Pony swinging wildly here.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pony.

Oooh a lovely combination from Pony sends Wood down but not out. Pony dives into side control looking to finish.


It looks like Ramsey Wood has been cut.
Pony moves into full mount!
Wood takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Pony's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tunturi Pony!
