Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Narton Zombie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Namiska Button !
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zombie takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Button has Zombie up against the cage in a clinch.
Button unloads a knee to the mid-section. Zombie lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Button has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Zombie is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Button has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Zombie avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Button wants the takedown. Zombie is fighting it off but Button persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Zombie's guard against the cage.
Button postures up in Zombie's guard and throws a big left but Zombie blocks it.
Button pushing down on Zombie's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Button takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Button is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Zombie sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Button is thwarting Zombie's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Button content to control rather than advance.
Button in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Zombie tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Button !
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Namiska Button !
A less than humble Namiska Button misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
