Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rick Duthie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Blow Me Away. Jason Jackson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Duthie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Jackson! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duthie throws a looping overhand right but Jackson ducks down to avoid it. Duthie looks to land a combination. Jackson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Duthie, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Duthie against the cage but Duthie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jackson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Duthie swings for the body but Jackson moves out of range.
Jackson shoots for a takedown but Duthie saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Rick Duthie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Jackson. Duthie fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Duthie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Duthie cracks Jackson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

It looks like Jason Jackson has been cut. Jackson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Duthie is out of range. Jackson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Duthie. Jackson has a takedown stuffed. Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Duthie shows good takedown defense. Duthie scores with the left hand. Jackson knows he should have avoided that one. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Duthie moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Duthie throws a hook but Jackson avoids it easily.

Jackson wants to clinch up but Duthie keeps it at a distance. Rick Duthie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Duthie missing with a left hand there. Jackson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Duthie throws a right and a left that both miss. Jackson shoots in but Duthie avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jackson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rick Duthie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Duthie tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Duthie throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Duthie throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Duthie as he avoids it easily. Horrible takedown by Jackson or perhaps it was just good defense by Duthie which made him look bad. Jackson looks gassed! Donk. Duthie catches Jackson right on the button with a cross. Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Duthie as he jumps to the side.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Duthie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Duthie is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Duthie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Duthie wants to slow Jackson down by chopping away at his legs. Duthie tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Duthie lands a jab to the head.
Duthie stalks Jackson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jackson's face. Jackson staggers backwards, shaken. Jackson walks into a straight right hand from Duthie. Duthie lands a nice hook to Jackson's body. Jackson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Duthie scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Duthie lands a slapping body shot.
Duthie takes a swing at Jackson's ribcage but misses. Duthie keeps the fight on the outside. Duthie connects with a jab. Jackson is trying desperately to land a takedown but Duthie is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Jackson. Duthie cracks Jackson with an open hand slap. Jackson walks into a stiff left hand from Duthie.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duthie pinned against the cage. Duthie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Duthie cracks Jackson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Jackson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown. Duthie tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Duthie manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Duthie misses with a double jab.
Duthie scores with a jab to the body. Duthie misses the shot to the body. Nice sprawl there from Duthie as Jackson shoots in. Duthie lands an overhand right. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but Duthie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Duthie is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson blocks a head kick by Duthie.
Duthie stuffs the takedown attempt from Jackson. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Duthie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jackson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Duthie sprawls well initially but Jackson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Jackson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Duthie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Still in half guard, Jackson seems content to control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Duthie is in trouble now - Jackson has advanced to mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Duthie throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jackson on the side of the head. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Duthie swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jackson has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Jackson slips a jab from Duthie. Jackson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Duthie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A big left from Duthie misses. Duthie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jackson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Duthie! Jackson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Duthie is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Duthie wants to control but Jackson is having none of it. Duthie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jackson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Duthie controls the position. Duthie tries to hold on but Jackson pushes him away. Duthie is looking to improve his position but Jackson isn't that keen on the idea. Jackson avoids the attempt from Duthie to control. Duthie is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Duthie looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. Duthie tries to get back to half guard but can't. Jackson looking to control but Duthie is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick Duthie dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Jason Jackson's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Duthie dips to his left and cracks Jackson with an uppercut! Duthie misses with a straight right. Duthie throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A big right from Duthie misses. Nice uppercut there from Duthie. Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Duthie's waist but Duthie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side. A jab lands there for Duthie. Duthie lands the left hand. Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Duthie, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Duthie against the cage but Duthie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Some wild striking there from Duthie.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Duthie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jackson tries to roll over but Duthie keeps him under control. Duthie perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Jackson regains full guard. Nicely done. Jackson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Duthie has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jackson is proving hard to escape from. Jackson wants to sweep but no luck. Jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jackson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Jason Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Duthie wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving. Jackson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
 It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Jackson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Rick Duthie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Jackson. Some wild striking there from Duthie.

Jackson shoots in but no luck this time. Duthie lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jackson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

That has opened up Jason Jackson's cut even more. Jackson shoots in but no luck this time. Jackson seems to have recovered his senses. Duthie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jackson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Duthie gets caught flat footed, as Jackson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Duthie uses the cage to get back to his feet.
A lazy left from Duthie finds it's target. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jackson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Duthie.

Duthie tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Duthie manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jackson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Duthie tries to land a leg kick but Jackson saw it coming and moves away.

And that's the end of the fight! Rick Duthie showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Duthie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
