Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Forres Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Forres Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Griffin as he jumps to the side.

Griffin trying to pass the guard but Hall defending well.
Hall is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Griffin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Griffin's back!

A bit of a pause in the action here. Hall controlling the positon.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hall is taking a breather. Griffin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Griffin is refusing to be controlled, as Hall sits in half guard.

Griffin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hall seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Griffin looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Griffin.
Hall tries to close the distance and clinch but Griffin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Griffin shoots in and drives through. Hall sprawls well.

Griffin has managed to clinch.
Hall drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hall has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Griffin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Griffin manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Griffin controls Hall momentarily but Hall frees himself.
Griffin pulls Hall in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Griffin tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Griffin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Griffin wants to sweep here but Hall controlling him for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Griffin wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Hall uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Hall is trying to keep Griffin in close.
Griffin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Forres Griffin dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hall is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Hall passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Griffin tries to buck Hall off but Hall is having none of it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
You can see the frustration on Griffin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hall in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Hall's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Griffin is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hall has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Hall is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Griffin's shoulder. That is not cool.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Griffin controls Hall momentarily but Hall frees himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hall shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hall showed some decent athleticism there.
Griffin wants to improve his position but Hall is controlling well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hall perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Hall has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Griffin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Griffin is stalling in the full guard.
Hall bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Griffin's guard.
Griffin wants to control but Hall passes easily into half guard.
Griffin tries to roll over but Hall keeps him under control.

Griffin is looking to get back to is feet but Hall passes into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ken Hall just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Hall takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Griffin rushes Hall and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Griffin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hall manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Griffin has Hall in his guard.

Hall thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Forres Griffin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Griffin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
