Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Woodhall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Piston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Woodhall's entrance music is do you feel like we do. A fine choice. Joe Piston is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gavin Woodhall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Piston! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woodhall rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Piston moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Piston looks to land a combination but Woodhall avoids it well. Piston tries a head kick but it misses.
Piston throws a series of punches but Woodhall avoids them all with ease. Woodhall misses with a double jab.
Gavin Woodhall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Woodhall scores with a takedown into Piston's guard. Woodhall looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Woodhall trying to control but Piston is working from the bottom. Woodhall prevents Piston from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woodhall throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Woodhall stopping the sweep attempt from Piston. Woodhall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Piston pulls Woodhall in close to prevent any damage.
We're going to have a standup here because Gavin Woodhall wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Piston throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Piston keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Woodhall's efforts to push away. A frustrated look appears on Woodhall's face as he tries to break the clinch. Woodhall pulls Piston into guard.
Woodhall is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Piston is aware though and is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodhall has a closed guard, preventing Piston from standing up. Woodhall pulls Piston in to control the position. Woodhall might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Piston wants to get up but he can't break Woodhall's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Woodhall is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Piston avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Piston has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Woodhall is proving hard to escape from. Woodhall is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Piston is trying to control the action in half guard but Woodhall is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Piston not landing any meaningful shots this time. Piston escapes and gets back to his feet. Woodhall closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Piston did well to prevent Woodhall getting side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Woodhall shoots in but Piston avoids the takedown attempt easily. Piston stuffs the takedown. Piston scores with a head kick. Woodhall tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Gavin Woodhall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Piston fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Woodhall closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Piston did well to prevent Woodhall getting side control. Piston wants to control but Woodhall is keeping busy and won't allow it. Piston moves into full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Piston is looking to stand up but Woodhall isn't so interested in that idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Piston kicks Woodhall off and gets to his feet. Piston rushes Woodhall and presses him up against the cage. Woodhall drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gavin Woodhall. That's going to take a lot out of him. A bit of stalling here from Woodhall.
Piston pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Piston throws a head kick that misses. Woodhall shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Piston keeps control of the position for the meantime. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Woodhall tries to stand and escape but Piston actually recovers to full guard. Woodhall prevents Piston from getting back to his feet. Woodhall gets to his feet - Piston follows without any prompting. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Woodhall tries to clinch there but Piston circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodhall tries to clinch up and Piston counters with a solid body kick. Piston throws a leg kick which misses Woodhall's front leg but catches the back leg as Woodhall tries to avoid it. Piston plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! That's four minutes gone in the round. Crunch! Piston slams his shin into Woodhall's torso. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Piston lands with a nice combination. Woodhall backs away looking to recover. Woodhall fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Piston avoids it really well and circles away. Piston lands with a thumping leg kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Piston tries to sprawl but Woodhall drives through with a takedown into half guard. Piston looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Piston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Woodhall takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Woodhall scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Piston is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position. Woodhall working for a guillotine from mount but Piston is in no mood to give up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woodhall with the ground and pound from mount. Woodhall can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Piston is looking to escape. Woodhall content just to control the position here. Woodhall cracks Piston with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Gavin Woodhall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodhall controlling from the full mount. Woodhall dominating with strikes here. Woodhall tries to control but Piston wriggling away. Piston is trying desperately to improve position.
