Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrey Kozlov!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie cracks Kozlov with a good jab.
Gracie tries to bum rush Kozlov with a series of wild strikes but Kozlov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gracie swings for the body but Kozlov moves out of range.
Kozlov misses with a takedown
and Gracie counters with a stiff right hand.
Gracie stuffs the takedown.
Gracie connects with a body shot.
Gracie misses with a double jab
and Kozlov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gracie won't be happy with that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kozlov in side control, throwing shots but Gracie defends.
Gracie is looking for a sweep.
Gracie is working hard here to advance position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kozlov working away.
Kozlov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kozlov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kozlov misses with the ground and pound.
Kozlov should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kozlov tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Kozlov has hold of Gracie's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Gracie tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Kozlov cranks the arm and Gracie screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Gracie, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Andrey Kozlov!
