Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Paul Badeux! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aron Kostic! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kostic fails in his attempt to clinch. Badeux looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Kostic clinches with his opponent.
Kostic lands a right hand.
It looks like John Paul Badeux has been cut. Badeux keeps control of Kostic as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Kostic is leaning against Badeux and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Kostic is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Badeux is defending well for now. Kostic wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Badeux has him pressed against the cage. Kostic is trying to trip Badeux. He has hold of a leg but Badeux is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kostic persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Kostic trying to control the position from guard on top but Badeux is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kostic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Badeux. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. This has been an exciting period of action! Kostic pushing down on Badeux's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kostic is looking for a kimura but Badeux is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kostic to get the leverage. Kostic wants to pass to mount but Badeux is defending the position. Kostic is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Badeux has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kostic looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Kostic wants to stand up but Badeux has a hold of him and won't allow it. Kostic decides to stand up. Kostic shoots in looking for a takedown but Badeux manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kostic's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Kostic closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kostic keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Badeux is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kostic seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Badeux does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Badeux is trying to get back to full guard. Kostic is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Badeux has managed to free his arm - good work. Kostic keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Badeux is not content to let Kostic control the position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kostic is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Badeux is just riding it out for now. Kostic eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kostic is trying to control. Badeux wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Aron Kostic wasn't active enough on the ground. Kostic wants to land a leg kick but Badeux is out of range. Kostic feints a jab and as Badeux dips his head, Kostic unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Badeux right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Badeux falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Kostic smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
