Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tim Johns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Brumpfuls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johns kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Cocaine Blues. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Johns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Brumpfuls! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johns throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Brumpfuls tries to clinch up but Johns circles away and keeps his distance. Brumpfuls avoids the head kick by Johns.
Johns has a takedown stuffed. Brumpfuls showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Johns.
Johns throws a right hand that Brumpfuls ducks under and follows up with a left that Brumpfuls also avoids with ease. Brumpfuls slips a jab and a cross from Johns.
Brumpfuls is looking to clinch. Don Brumpfuls seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johns will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Johns wants to clinch but Brumpfuls slips to the side and Brumpfuls counters with a stiff right hand. Brumpfuls digs a good hook to Johns's body.
Brumpfuls scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Johns misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A combination from Brumpfuls does no damage. Brumpfuls connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Brumpfuls fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johns manages to avoid it. Brumpfuls connects with a looping right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brumpfuls closes the distance and clinches. Brumpfuls wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Johns misses with a short punch on the inside. Brumpfuls wants to get back to striking at distance but Johns won't allow it.
Brumpfuls is working for takedown but Johns is calmly controlling the position for now. Brumpfuls breaks the clinch.
Brumpfuls takes a jab right on the kisser.
Brumpfuls takes the fight into the clinch. Johns looks to throw an elbow but misses. Johns is looking to control Brumpfuls's arms but Brumpfuls gets an underhook and turns him. Now Johns has his back to the cage. Brumpfuls wants to break free but Johns has control.
Brumpfuls is trying to break the clinch but Johns has him pressed against the cage. Brumpfuls is working for takedown but Johns is calmly controlling the position for now. Brumpfuls wants to break the clinch but can't.
Brumpfuls lands with a right to the head. A head punch blocked on the inside by Brumpfuls. Brumpfuls pushes Johns back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Brumpfuls is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Johns throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Brumpfuls can't break the clinch.

Brumpfuls has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Johns is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Tim Johns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Don Brumpfuls. A nice left hand lands by Johns.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johns breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johns tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Brumpfuls clobbers Johns with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Brumpfuls looks to score with a jab to the body but Johns is just out of range. Johns misses with a double jab
and Brumpfuls counters with a series of strikes. Johns will be more careful next time no doubt. Johns is breathing heavily. Brumpfuls closes the distance and clinches. Brumpfuls has had enough of the clinch but Johns keeps him there for the moment. Johns tries a body shot but Brumpfuls blocks it.
Brumpfuls is looking to break free of the clinch but Johns has double underhooks. Brumpfuls wants to break free but Johns has control.
Brumpfuls wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Johns has him pressed against the cage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Johns breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johns's corner calls for a 1-2. Johns obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Brumpfuls throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Johns stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Don Brumpfuls is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Brumpfuls throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Brumpfuls cracks a nice hook into Johns's ribs. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johns takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Brumpfuls with a body punch. A glancing blow. Brumpfuls is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Johns rather than just go for the knockout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brumpfuls misses with a series of wild punches.
Johns uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brumpfuls.
Brumpfuls misses with a leg kick and Johns connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Brumpfuls misses with a right hand and Johns counters with a nice right hand that sends Brumpfuls toppling to the canvas! Brumpfuls scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Johns finish him?!
Brumpfuls is rocked! Johns lands an uppercut, right on the button! Brumpfuls tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tim Johns!
