Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Donnie Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinya Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Aoki doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Jackson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jackson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jackson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Aoki pushes him off.

letting Jackson counter with a right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Aoki avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Aoki is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jackson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Aoki goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jackson turns into him and now he's in Aoki's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aoki is breathing heavily.

Aoki has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though.

We're going to have a standup here because Donnie Jackson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Aoki swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jackson looks to score with a jab to the body but Aoki is just out of range.

That was a close second round but I would say that Donnie Jackson will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Aoki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Aoki passes Jackson's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Aoki is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Jackson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Aoki pulls his head out easily.
Jackson wants to control but Aoki is keeping busy and won't allow it.

I would just about give that final round to Shinya Aoki.
I think Jackson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
