Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sawao Kato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandr Fedorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fedorov has chosen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8kANB2XBYU&feature=related as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Aleksandr Fedorov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sawao Kato! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aleksandr Fedorov! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fedorov has Kato up against the cage in a clinch.
Kato goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Kato tries for a takedown. No joy.
Kato pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kato looks to throw the jab but Fedorov is out of range. Kato wants to clinch. Kato fails with the takedown. Kato misses with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fedorov moves into range and clinches up with Kato. Fedorov lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Fedorov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fedorov in particular looking to stall. Kato is trying to maintain the position but Fedorov is very close to passing his half guard. Fedorov is working for a submission of some sort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fedorov with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Kato is looking for a sweep. Fedorov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Fedorov seems to be working for a kimura but Kato defends the submission attempt. Fedorov keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Kato is trying to maintain the position but Fedorov is very close to passing his half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kato looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kato trying to control from the bottom.
Fedorov stands up out of the half guard. Fedorov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Fedorov is looking for a kimura here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kato is not content to let Fedorov control the position. Kato tries to roll over but Fedorov keeps him under control. Fedorov is looking to take a break and control but Kato is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Fedorov is taking a breather. Kato says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Kato is looking for a sweep. Fedorov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Fedorov with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Aleksandr Fedorov wasn't active enough on the ground. Kato falls off balance throwing a combination
and Fedorov counters by clinching up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fedorov with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Fedorov pulls guard effortlessly. Fedorov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kato in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fedorov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kato manages to get himself to full guard.
Kato escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fedorov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kato is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kato can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fedorov controls the pace. Kato looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aleksandr Fedorov dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Kato digs a good body shot into Fedorov's ribs. Fedorov drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fedorov decides to take the fight back to the feet. Fedorov is looking to clinch. Fedorov drives through and clinches with Kato against the cage.
Kato pulls Fedorov into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fedorov stays in close to Kato's body and controls the position. Fedorov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kato is trying to keep Fedorov in close.
Kato is really struggling to control Fedorov but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kato is looking for a triangle but Fedorov pushes his legs off easily.
Fedorov controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Kato is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fedorov defends well. Fedorov gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Fedorov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Kato is not content to let Fedorov control the position. Kato gets full guard. Fedorov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kato. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fedorov stays in close to Kato's body and controls the position. Kato has Fedorov pulled in close to control his posture. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kato is working an open guard so Fedorov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Kato tries to clinch but Fedorov moves out of range. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kato is defended easily by Fedorov. Kato fails in his attempt to clinch. Sawao Kato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kato loads up on a big right hand but Fedorov slips the punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fedorov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kato manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Fedorov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Fedorov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kato is proving hard to escape from. Kato looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kato being controlled here, momentarily. Fedorov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fedorov wants to get up but he can't break Kato's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kato keeping moving, preventing Fedorov from controlling successfully. Fedorov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kato kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Fedorov showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Aleksandr Fedorov hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Fedorov defending well as Kato loads up on a big left hand. Fedorov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fedorov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kato sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Kato actively working from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aleksandr Fedorov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Kato shoots for a takedown but Fedorov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Fedorov moves into the clinch. Kato wants a takedown but no success here.
Fedorov decides to pull guard. Kato postures up in Fedorov's guard and throws a big left but Fedorov blocks it. Fedorov keeping full guard, as Kato tries to pass. Kato is looking to work some ground and pound but Fedorov has wrist control. Fedorov wants to stand up but Kato is controlling him. Fedorov looking for a sweep. Not yet Fedorov, not yet.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fedorov holds on and takes a little breather. Kato missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Kato wants to control from the top but Fedorov keeps moving. Fedorov pulls Kato in to control the position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Aleksandr Fedorov wasn't active enough on the ground. Kato tries to sprawl but Fedorov drives through with a takedown into half guard. Fedorov sitting and controlling from the half guard. Kato actively working from the bottom here. Kato is trying to control but can't.
Aleksandr Fedorov has got the better of the ground game so far.
