Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Larry O Leary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Shears (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Leary's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, one day like this. Shears comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Larry O Leary! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Shears! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Leary defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shears. O Leary looks to land a combination but Shears avoids it well. O Leary stalks Shears and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Shears's face. Shears staggers backwards, shaken. Shears throws a wild combination but nothing lands. O Leary just misses with a punch to the body.
O Leary fails with an attempt to clinch.
O Leary doesn't manage to clinch there - Shears circles away.
O Leary misses the shot to the body. Shears shoots for a double leg takedown but O Leary sprawls well. He's pushed Shears's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. O Leary uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shears.
Shears displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as O Leary throws out the jab. O Leary throws a body punch but Shears moves out of range. O Leary throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Shears lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but O Leary circles away quickly and effectively. Shears fails with a takedown attempt. Larry O Leary has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Shears. O Leary is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shears.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Leary lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by O Leary. O Leary gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. O Leary lands a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Shears is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. O Leary trying to control but Shears is working from the bottom. O Leary's corner is telling him to maintain position. This has been an exciting period of action! Shears not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
O Leary controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We're going to have a standup here because Larry O Leary wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Shears uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Shears avoids the body shot from O Leary.
Shears cracks O Leary with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. O Leary tries to clinch but Shears is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. O Leary tests Shears's chin there with a solid looking shot. Shears swats away the attempt to clinch by O Leary. O Leary misses with a double jab.
O Leary throws the left hand but Shears avoids the punch easily. Shears keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
O Leary has Shears up against the cage in a clinch.
O Leary lands a shoulder strike. O Leary presses Shears against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. O Leary works on Shears's body with a couple of short punches. O Leary struggles to land a body shot inside as Shears controls his hands.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Shears. O Leary keeps control of Shears as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Shears working aggressively here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. O Leary looking to slow down the pace here. Shears is trying to force a seperation but O Leary has the dominant position. O Leary has Shears pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. O Leary pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Shears tumbling to the mat - O Leary dives into Shears's guard. Shears being controlled here, momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. O Leary has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. O Leary has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Shears to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! O Leary is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Shears pulls down on the head and he's put O Leary to sleep! This one is all over!
