Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Macapinlac Co (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Melvin Manhoef (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Macapinlac Co!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Melvin Manhoef!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manhoef throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Co's head.
Manhoef works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Manhoef swings for the body but Co moves out of range.
Co will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Co fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Co fails with the takedown.

Co rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Manhoef moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Manhoef scores with a nice right hand.

Manhoef throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Co's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Manhoef throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Co shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Manhoef is trying to defend but Co finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Manhoef is pressing down on Co's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Manhoef is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Manhoef wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Manhoef parries the strikes from Co easily there. Co is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Manhoef to escape.
Manhoef tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Co wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Co is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Manhoef has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sloppy strikes there by Co.
Co gets to mount! Manhoef was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Co scores with a couple of good head shots there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Co can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Manhoef is looking to escape.

Manhoef takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Manhoef is desperately trying to improve his position but Co has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Co is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Co checks a leg kick.
Melvin Manhoef seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Manhoef.

Co shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Manhoef sprawls well. Manhoef wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Co gets slowly back to his feet.

Macapinlac Co is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Co tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Manhoef was well out of range. Poor timing from Co.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Manhoef lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Co has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Co and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Co fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Manhoef looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Co has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Co wants to work for an arm triangle but Manhoef is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Melvin Manhoef showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Co closes this distance looking for a takedown but Manhoef circles away.
Manhoef lands a nice leg kick that just misses Co's sensitive parts.
Co is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
The crowd cheers as Manhoef lands an impressive looking overhand right. Co doesn't seem phased though.

Co feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Manhoef bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Co's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Co has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Manhoef can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Manhoef must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Co can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Manhoef controls the pace.
Co is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
