PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ness Webster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Madara Uchiha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Webster comes to the cage accompanied by Cinderella Man. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Madara Uchiha was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uchiha misses with a low kick.
Webster shoots in but no luck this time.
Uchiha swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Webster fails with a takedown attempt.
No joy there for Uchiha, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Uchiha throws a head kick that misses.
Webster shoots in looking for a takedown. Uchiha tries to sprawl out of it but Webster keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Uchiha manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ness Webster. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Uchiha throws a shot from downtown. Webster moves away and avoids it.
Webster fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Uchiha avoids it really well and circles away.

Webster looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Uchiha is fending him off so far but Webster persists. Nope, Uchiha circles away and we're back to standing.
Uchiha throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Webster feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Uchiha has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Webster can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Webster stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Uchiha swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Uchiha looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Uchiha has an active guard here but Webster has managed to pass into half guard.

Webster with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Webster drops back looking for a leg! Uchiha is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Uchiha manages to kick Webster off! Webster jumps back into Uchiha's guard.

Webster drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Webster jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Uchiha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Webster. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Webster shoots in for a takedown but Uchiha shows good takedown defense.
Uchiha takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Uchiha throws a sloppy head kick and Webster moves out of range easily.
Uchiha misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Webster connects with an inside leg kick.
Webster fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Uchiha displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Webster.

Webster wants to control from the top but Uchiha keeps moving.
Webster pushes down on Uchiha's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Webster is working for a submission of some sort.
Well, if Webster is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Webster accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
