Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Polk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henderson comes into the arena with Confrontation blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Henderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Polk! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Henderson sprawls well. Henderson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Polk gets slowly back to his feet. Polk closes the distance and clinches up with Henderson, looking for a takedown. Polk pushes Henderson against the cage but Henderson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Polk shoots for a double leg takedown but Henderson sprawls well. He's pushed Polk's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Matt Henderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Polk. Henderson misses with a wild body shot. Polk gets the takedown into side control. Polk landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Polk lands a nice shot to the head. Polk looking to finish Henderson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Henderson! This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Polk seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. Henderson distracts Polk with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Henderson won't allow Polk to sweep him here. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Henderson is working Polk over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Henderson throws a jab when Polk was well out of range. Henderson tries to sprawl but Polk drives through with a takedown into half guard. Polk is looking to take a break and control but Henderson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are battling for position here. Henderson manages to regain full guard. Nice work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Henderson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount!
