Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hiro Nakamura!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hathaway bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Nakamura's head backwards.
Nakamura takes one to the side of the head.
Nakamura changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hathaway looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
You can see the frustration on Hathaway's face as Nakamura controls the position.
Hathaway tries to bench press Nakamura off him but Nakamura keeps the position.
Hathaway is working hard here to advance position.
Nakamura scores with punches from side control.
Hathaway tries to buck Nakamura off but Nakamura is having none of it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hathaway takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Nakamura misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
An elbow from Nakamura crashes against the mat.
Hathaway dodges the ground and pound from Nakamura.

Nakamura gets to mount! Hathaway was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Nakamura cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The referee warns Hathaway that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Nakamura unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Hathaway wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Nakamura celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
