Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Project Alpha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Rook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alpha kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sub Focus - Rock It. Rook has chosen Mr Krinkle as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alpha gets cracked there but stands up to it.

It looks like Project Alpha has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Rook walks into a straight right hand from Alpha.
Rook lands a nice shot to the body.
Alpha throws a right hand that misses
and Rook counters with a straight right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rook staying out of range there.

Rook feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Yuri Rook.
A punch lands to the side of Rook 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Alpha stuns Rook with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Rook looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Still in half guard, Rook seems content to control.
Rook passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Alpha!
Alpha is bucking up trying to escape but Rook cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Rook wants to finish this one by submission but Alpha is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alpha tries to hold on but Rook postures up.

Alpha defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Rook.
Alpha tries to reverse the position but Rook maintains control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rook tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Alpha is trying desperately to improve position.

Rook is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Alpha has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Rook unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Alpha wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Rook celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
