Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Walt Whitman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Saplin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saplin is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Invincible. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walt Whitman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Saplin!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saplin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Whitman lands a right hook to the body.
Saplin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The fight stays on the outside here - Saplin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Saplin is looking to clinch but Whitman is avoiding it.
Saplin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
It looks like Marcus Saplin has been cut.
Nice body punch from Whitman.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Whitman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Whitman wants it to stay on the feet.
Walt Whitman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Saplin.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Saplin is defended easily by Whitman.
Saplin looks gassed!
Whitman lands a nice looking body shot.
Saplin takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Saplin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Whitman stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Whitman comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Saplin seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Whitman shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Saplin is backing up but Whitman catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Saplin covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Whitman Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Walt Whitman!
