Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Fitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Railroad Charlie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Railroad Charlie told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Fitch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Railroad Charlie! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fitch stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fitch wants it to stay on the feet. Charlie fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
It looks like John Fitch has been cut. Charlie cracks Fitch with a right hand to the side of the head. Charlie bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Charlie misses with a takedown attempt - Fitch sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Charlie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Fitch counters with a takedown into side control. John Fitch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Railroad Charlie. This has been an exciting period of action! Fitch controlling the position from side mount. Charlie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fitch wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Charlie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Charlie manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Charlie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fitch defends it well. Fitch on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fitch tries to get out of the position. Charlie wants to take a breather but Fitch is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fitch is holding on to half guard well. Charlie thows a huge punch but Fitch dodges it nicely.

Railroad Charlie dominated that round. The cut man is working on John Fitch's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Charlie throws a half hearted mid kick. Charlie scores with a nice strike. Charlie with a lazy takedown attempt and Fitch counters with a nice double leg into guard. Railroad Charlie has got the better of the ground game so far. Fitch not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Fitch prevents Charlie from getting back to his feet. Fitch is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Fitch preventing the sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of John Fitch. Charlie scores with a punch to the head. Fitch uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Charlie. Fitch looking to score a takedown here. Charlie is defending well but Fitch drives through and ends up in Charlie's guard. Fitch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Charlie on the ground. Charlie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fitch defends it easily. Fitch looking to pass the guard. Charlie is trying to control the position but Fitch postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Fitch wasn't doing enough on the ground. Charlie scores with a push kick. Fitch dives in and scores a takedown into Charlie's guard. Fitch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Fitch content to stall in guard here. Charlie looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Fitch has picked Charlie up and slammed him! Charlie can't keep hold of the triangle and Fitch manages to pass to side control! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Fitch controls the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that John Fitch will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on John Fitch's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Charlie looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Fitch puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Charlie wants to control but Fitch is keeping busy and won't allow it. Charlie is looking for a sweep. Fitch is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Charlie gets full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Charlie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fitch defends it easily. Charlie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Fitch advances to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fitch slows the pace down in half guard. Charlie tries to get to full guard but Fitch has control of the leg. Charlie is looking to escape.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Charlie is defended easily by Fitch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charlie throws a body kick that misses. Fitch manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Charlie on his heels. He'll look to pass Charlie's guard now, I'm sure. Charlie has an active guard here but Fitch has managed to pass into half guard.
