Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mustaffa Spliff!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
16 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Rufus McGrufus!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGrufus throws a sloppy head kick and Spliff moves out of range easily.
Spliff checks the leg kick.
Spliff scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Spliff avoids the head kick by McGrufus.
McGrufus plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Spliff, as that shot connected.
Spliff slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Spliff stalks McGrufus and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into McGrufus's face. McGrufus staggers backwards, shaken.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Spliff goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Spliff throws a left and a right that both miss
and McGrufus counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Spliff has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from McGrufus.
Spliff connects with a nice looking jab.
Mustaffa Spliff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGrufus walks into a stiff left hand from Spliff.
Spliff ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McGrufus moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
McGrufus throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Spliff works McGrufus's body with a nice hook.
Spliff lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as McGrufus backs up against the cage.
Spliff rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McGrufus moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McGrufus lands a big head kick that sends Spliff tumbling to the mat! McGrufus takes a step backwards and waves Spliff back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Spliff is rocked!
McGrufus throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Spliff crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Rufus McGrufus!
Rufus McGrufus is the new welterweight champion!
