Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Konstantin Snegov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anton Nikolaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anton Nikolaev!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snegov throws a head kick but Nikolaev moves out of range.
Snegov pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Nikolaev fails in his attempt to clinch.
Snegov swats away the attempt to clinch by Nikolaev.
Snegov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nikolaev misses with a knee to the head.

Nikolaev is trying to trip Snegov. He has hold of a leg but Snegov is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Nikolaev persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Snegov controls Nikolaev momentarily but Nikolaev frees himself.

Snegov is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Nikolaev has his hands clasped together but Snegov extends an breaks Nikolaev's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Snegov.
