The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Neil throws a right hand that Bernardi ducks under and follows up with a left that Bernardi also avoids with ease.
O Neil ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bernardi moves away.
Bernardi connects with a leg kick. O Neil looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Alessio Bernardi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bernardi throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by O Neil.
Bernardi lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
O Neil misses with a jab, cross combination.
O Neil connects with a body shot.

O Neil shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than O Neil was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
