Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dominick Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dodson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Cant be touched. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dominick Aldo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Dodson! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dodson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Aldo.
Aldo fails with an attempt to clinch.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Aldo enables Dodson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Aldo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Dodson wants to stand but Aldo has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Dodson throws a big right hand that misses. Aldo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Dodson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Aldo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dodson has Aldo in his guard. Aldo preventing the sweep. Aldo keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dodson's head. Aldo trying to control the position from guard on top but Dodson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Aldo forces his way into half guard. Aldo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dodson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Dodson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Aldo wants to stand but Dodson has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Aldo throws a strike but Dodson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Dodson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dodson throwing strikes but missing. Dodson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dodson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dodson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Dodson passes easily into side control. Nice work. Dodson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dodson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Aldo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dodson's best efforts. Dodson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Aldo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dodson is controlling him. Dodson passes into half guard. Dodson wants to take a breather but Aldo is having none of it. Dodson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Dodson is looking for a kimura but Aldo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dodson to get the leverage. Dodson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dodson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dodson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Aldo won't allow Dodson to pass to mount. Aldo is defending against the submission attempts here by Dodson.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dodson is looking to stall here but Aldo recovers full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Dodson dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Dodson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Aldo. That one must have hurt. Dodson lands with a nice body punch. Aldo fails in his attempt to clinch. Aldo has a takedown stuffed. Dodson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Dodson in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Aldo is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Dodson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aldo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dodson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Aldo has escaped the position, nice work there. Dodson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Aldo keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aldo is trying to buck Dodson off. Dodson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Aldo wants to control but Dodson postures up. Dodson lands some shots froms side control. Dodson trying to control the action but Aldo is working from the bottom.

Dodson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Aldo has escaped the position, nice work there. Dodson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Dodson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Aldo is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Dodson wants to take a breather but Aldo manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Dodson. Dodson throwing strikes from guard but Aldo blocks nicely. Aldo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Aldo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Aldo won't allow Dodson to sweep him here. Dodson working for a triangle but Aldo defends it easily.

John Dodson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Dodson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Aldo's guard. Dodson looking to pass the guard. Aldo wants to stand and escape but Dodson is having none of it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Aldo is on top in guard.

Dodson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Dodson is trying to control the action in half guard but Aldo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Dodson wants to free his trapped foot but Aldo is holding on for dear life with his legs. Both fighters are breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Dodson moves nicely into side control. Aldo wants to get back to his feet.

But no, Aldo has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dodson but great work by Aldo.

He has the arm isolated but Dodson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Dodson can't do much from the bottom here. Dodson is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Dodson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Dodson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Aldo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Aldo creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aldo decides to stand back up. Dodson stuns Aldo with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Aldo darts in trying to clinch and Dodson counters with a nice leg kick. Aldo shoots in and drives through. Dodson sprawls well. Dodson connects with a single shot there. Dodson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dodson lands with a punch from half guard. Dominick Aldo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dodson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Aldo defends it well. Dodson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Aldo sees it coming and defends easily.
And that's the end of the fight! John Dodson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Dodson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
