Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Otto Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Umaga Beeturasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Beeturasa's choice of entrance music: Metallicas Sanatarium, coming home. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Otto Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Umaga Beeturasa! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos closes the distance and clinches up with Beeturasa, looking for a takedown. Santos pushes Beeturasa against the cage but Beeturasa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Beeturasa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Beeturasa fails with a takedown attempt. Beeturasa misses with a lunging right hand
and Santos counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Beeturasa! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Santos unloading with bombs! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Beeturasa can't escape the position.
Santos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Beeturasa tries to hold on but Santos pushes him away. Beeturasa is desperately trying to improve his position but Santos has a good base and remains in mount. Santos dominating with strikes here. Beeturasa is wriggling around trying to escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Santos lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
It looks like Umaga Beeturasa has been cut. Beeturasa gets back to half guard. Santos landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Santos wants to pass to mount but Beeturasa is defending the position. Santos throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice strikes from Santos there. Santos thows a huge punch but Beeturasa dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Beeturasa keeps working. Santos takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Beeturasa blocking the ground and pound attempt from Santos. Beeturasa manages to escape and get back to his feet! Beeturasa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Santos misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Beeturasa.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Santos jumps guard but Beeturasa stands there with Santos around his waist. Santos gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Otto Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Santos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Beeturasa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Santos tries to avoid it but Beeturasa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Santos to the ground. Santos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Santos moves into the clinch. Santos wants a takedown.
Santos jumps guard but Beeturasa stands there with Santos around his waist. Santos gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

A solid leg kick lands there for Beeturasa.
Beeturasa stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beeturasa throws out a loose jab but Santos uses good head movement to avoid it. Beeturasa looking to score a takedown here. Santos is defending well but Beeturasa drives through and ends up in Santos's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Beeturasa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Beeturasa is looking to work some ground and pound but Santos has wrist control. Beeturasa with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Beeturasa with a flurry of punches that miss. Santos keeping moving, preventing Beeturasa from controlling successfully. Beeturasa wants to pass the guard but Santos is keeping the position. Beeturasa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Beeturasa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Beeturasa trying to control the position from guard on top but Santos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Beeturasa with a nice head shot there. Beeturasa throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Santos wants to stand and escape but Beeturasa is having none of it. Santos is breathing heavily. Beeturasa throwing strikes from guard but Santos blocks nicely. Beeturasa trying to control but Santos is working from the bottom. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Beeturasa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Otto Santos will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Umaga Beeturasa's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Beeturasa. Beeturasa misses with a hook. Beeturasa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Santos moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Beeturasa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Santos takes a shot right to the bread basket. Beeturasa fails to land with a series of punches.

It looks like Otto Santos has been cut. Beeturasa tries to clinch up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Beeturasa. Otto Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Umaga Beeturasa.

Santos is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Beeturasa has managed to free his arm - good work. Beeturasa works his way to full guard. Good work. Santos lands a couple of digs. Beeturasa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Santos postures up.
Santos wants to control from the top but Beeturasa keeps moving. Beeturasa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Beeturasa pushes a forearm under Santos's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Santos is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
