Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Beam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimmy Karlsson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Beam! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karlsson looks to land a right hand but Beam moved out of range. A punch combination from Beam misses. Beam will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Beam fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Karlsson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. The fighters circle momentarily. Beam darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
It looks like Jimmy Karlsson has been cut. Beam is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Karlsson. Karlsson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Karlsson is trying to get an arm triangle but Beam is defending well. Karlsson wants to control but Beam is keeping him busy. This has been an exciting period of action! Karlsson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Beam is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Karlsson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beam is positioning himself to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Beam's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Karlsson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Beam manages to get back to half guard. Karlsson seems to be working for a kimura but Beam defends the submission attempt. Beam looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Karlsson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karlsson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Karlsson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Beam is trying to maintain the position but Karlsson is very close to passing his half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Karlsson is keen to just control but Beam is a slippery customer.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Karlsson is working for a kimura but Beam is defending it quite comfortably.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Karlsson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Beam is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Karlsson pulls his head out easily. Beam tries to get to full guard but Karlsson has control of the leg. Karlsson scoring with strikes to the body and head.

Karlsson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Beam is just riding it out for now. Karlsson eventually gives up the hold. Beam wants to get back to full guard. Karlsson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Karlsson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Beam knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Karlsson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jimmy Karlsson's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Beam lands a jab-cross combination. Excellent takedown into side control there by Karlsson. Beam gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Karlsson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Beam manages to avoid the submission attempt. Karlsson is chipping away with strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Karlsson in side control, throwing shots but Beam defends. Beam can't do much from the bottom here. Beam is not content to let Karlsson control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karlsson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Karlsson tries for a kimura but Beam is defending well. Beam is looking for a sweep. Karlsson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Beam's legs. Beam is looking to regain half guard here but Karlsson keeps moving and retains side control. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Karlsson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Beam parries the strikes from Karlsson easily there. Karlsson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Beam to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karlsson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Beam keeps working. Karlsson lands a few punches from side control. Karlsson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Karlsson working the ground and pound. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Beam is trying to work for a sweep but Karlsson has mounted him! Beam tries to hold on but Karlsson postures up. Beam tries to reverse the position but Karlsson maintains control. Karlsson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Karlsson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Beam is trying to reverse the position but instead Karlsson has taken his back - oops! A bit of a pause in the action here. Karlsson controlling the positon. Karlsson avoiding Beam 's attempts to control his hands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karlsson has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Beam! Can he survive? No! He's out! Karlsson gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jimmy Karlsson! Jimmy Karlsson retains his heavyweight title!
