Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Currie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Po (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Currie comes to the cage accompanied by Helmet - Just Another Victim. The crowd seem to be enjoying Po's choice of entrance music: Skrypture - Look. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Currie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Po!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Currie throws a nice outside leg kick.
Currie misses with a left hand
enabling Po to counter with a crisp jab.
Po misses with a leg kick
and Currie counters with a nice low kick that buckles Po's knee momentarily.
Currie scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Po on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Po ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Currie moves away.
Po lands a leg kick that knocks Currie off balance momentarily.
Po dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Currie. That did some damage!
Currie misses with a low kick.
Po throws a lazy head kick
and Po takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Currie throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Po moves out of range of the leg kick from Currie.
Currie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Po moves away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Po throws a shot from downtown. Currie moves away and avoids it.

Po shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Currie throws a hook but Po blocks it.
Po throws a half hearted mid kick.
Po smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Po has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Currie.

Currie throws a hook to the side of Po's head but Po sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Currie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Currie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Po moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Currie throws a front kick aimed at Po's knee but Po avoids it well.
Po lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Currie circles away quickly and effectively.

Po drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

and Currie counters with a slapping leg kick.

Po throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Po lands a nice shot that snaps Currie's head back.
Po throws a head kick but Currie moves out of range.
Currie tries a head kick but it misses.
Currie throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Po pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Po closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Currie throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Currie tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Po throws a lazy uppercut

and Currie counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Po!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Currie throwing strikes here but Po is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Currie moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Po has worked his arm free - good work by Po!

Po dodges the ground and pound from Currie.
Currie working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Po is looking for a sweep.
Currie tries to advance to mount but can't.
Currie in side control lands a decent elbow.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Po takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Currie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
