Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Damien Stewart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Melora McKay! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKay fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stewart, pushing him back against the cage. McKay turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! McKay misses with the ground and pound. The strikes coming from McKay are missing the target in this wave of attacks. McKay sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Stewart is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Sloppy strikes there by McKay. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stewart is looking to work his way out of this bad position but McKay is controlling him well. McKay tries to score with some ground and pound. Stewart controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Stewart managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by McKay.
Stewart parries the strikes from McKay easily there. McKay is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stewart to escape.
McKay misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
McKay connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Stewart some visible discomfort.
The ground and pound from McKay seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McKay is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Stewart's shoulder. That is not cool. An elbow from McKay crashes against the mat.
McKay working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's one minute gone in the round. McKay is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stewart is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. McKay thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. McKay swings around for an armbar but Stewart sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into McKay's guard. McKay has his foot on Stewart's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stewart works his way back into a safe position though. McKay working for a triangle but Stewart defends it easily.
McKay is pulling down on Stewart's head. It's preventing any offense from Stewart, at least for the moment.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. McKay is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
McKay has his foot on Stewart's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stewart works his way back into a safe position though. Stewart postures up.
McKay is controlling Stewart's posture. This has been an exciting period of action! Stewart trying to stand up but can't free himself from McKay's guard. No, Stewart has managed to get both his arms back between McKay's legs - danger averted.

McKay has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stewart can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Stewart avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now McKay is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McKay postures up in Stewart's guard and throws a big left but Stewart blocks it. McKay keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Stewart's head. McKay is looking to work some ground and pound but Stewart has wrist control. McKay postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Stewart avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. McKay throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Stewart is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stewart working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McKay. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McKay in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. McKay slips nicely into half guard. McKay thows a huge punch but Stewart dodges it nicely.

Stewart tries to keep at a distance but McKay has taken the fight into the clinch. Stewart gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from McKay.

McKay lands an elbow that stopped Stewart in his tracks for a moment. McKay stalling in the clinch.
McKay turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McKay manages to end up in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. McKay is trying to get an arm triangle but Stewart is defending well. McKay has been the more effective fighter overall so far. McKay tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. McKay tries to score with some ground and pound. Stewart controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. McKay creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. McKay throws an elbow but Stewart slips to the side and avoids it well. McKay is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. McKay lands a nice forearm strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McKay advances to full mount. Stewart avoids a series of strikes thrown by McKay.
McKay is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Stewart is surviving well by controlling McKay's body position as best he can. BOOM! McKay connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McKay misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
McKay cracks Stewart with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McKay cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Stewart is bucking up trying to escape but McKay cracks him with another couple of good strikes. McKay throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Stewart because McKay loaded up on that one. Stewart is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Melora McKay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

McKay lands a nice elbow from the clinch. McKay pushes off an throws an elbow but Stewart leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. McKay lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Damien Stewart has been cut. Stewart wants to get back to striking at distance but McKay won't allow it.
McKay is working for takedown but Stewart is calmly controlling the position for now. Knees to the body from McKay.

McKay gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. McKay gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McKay seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

McKay throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Stewart is staying active underneath McKay, who seems content to just control the action from this position. McKay drops an elbow to the side of Stewart's head. Stewart blocking the ground and pound attempt from McKay. Stewart keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. McKay takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. McKay passes the guard and advances to mount! Both fighters are breathing heavily. McKay thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McKay throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Stewart because McKay loaded up on that one. McKay misses with a head shot. McKay throwing strikes here but Stewart is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round. McKay postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Stewart looks a forlorn figure.

McKay bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stewart's guard. McKay is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. McKay working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. That's four minutes gone in the round. McKay thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Stewart working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McKay. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McKay sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stewart's guard. McKay is nestled in close to Stewart, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Melora McKay is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. McKay controlling the action here. Stewart wants to get back to his feet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! McKay with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Melora McKay comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well McKay has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
