Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Diaz! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Erlenmeyer Flask! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flask takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Erlenmeyer Flask has been cut. Diaz misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Flask.
Flask takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Nice uppercut there from Diaz. Diaz moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Flask on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Nice sprawl there from Diaz as Flask shoots in. Diaz gets caught napping as Flask dives in and scores a takedown. Diaz manages to retain guard. Flask wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving. Flask pushing down on Diaz's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Flask passes to full mount! Diaz wants to control but Flask is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flask throwing strikes here but Diaz is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Flask lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Diaz wants to control but Flask is having none of it. Diaz tries to get back to half guard but can't. The referee warns Diaz that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Diaz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Flask on the ground. Flask pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Flask punishing his opponent with strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Diaz takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Diaz really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Flask with the ground and pound from mount. Diaz is squirming around, avoiding Flask's attempts to control the action. Flask controlling the pace for now. Diaz takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. A nice elbow there by Flask. Flask postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Diaz looks a forlorn figure.

Joe Diaz's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Flask controlling from the full mount. Flask in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Flask cracks Diaz with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jeez, Joe Diaz's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
