Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bertus Eppinga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chase Nuke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bertus Eppinga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chase Nuke!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eppinga has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Nuke.
Nuke circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nuke displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Eppinga.
Eppinga fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Eppinga tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nuke sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Eppinga somewhat.

Nuke connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nuke. Eppinga does a little dance to reset his feet.
Eppinga tries to land a front kick but Nuke steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Eppinga shoots in for a takedown but Nuke shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nuke lands a jab to Eppinga's midsection.
Nuke thows a body kick. Eppinga tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Chase Nuke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eppinga misses with a lunging right hand
and Nuke counters with a series of strikes. Eppinga will be more careful next time no doubt.

Eppinga misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Eppinga throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nuke's waist but Nuke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Eppinga off to one side.

Nuke gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Nuke will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Eppinga up against the cage.
Eppinga takes a knee to the side of the body.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Nuke bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Eppinga's guard.

Nuke doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Nuke looks to land a combination but Eppinga avoids it well.

Eppinga dodges the punch combination from Nuke.
Nuke will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Eppinga throws a solid leg kick but Nuke takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Eppinga.

Nuke shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Eppinga defends it nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nuke wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chase Nuke dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Eppinga shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nuke as he jumps to the side.
Eppinga tries to clinch but Nuke moves out of range.
Nuke fails with a takedown attempt.
Eppinga doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Eppinga closes the distance and clinches.
Eppinga is trying to maintain a safe position but Nuke gets an underhook and turns Eppinga into the cage.

Nuke breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Nuke counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Eppinga wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Eppinga is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Nuke lands a knee to the body.

Eppinga is trying to push Nuke away but Nuke has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Nuke lands an elbow just above Eppinga 's eye.
Eppinga jumps guard but Nuke stands there with Eppinga around his waist. Eppinga gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nuke works on Eppinga's body with a couple of short punches.

Nuke pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chase Nuke showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Nuke misses with the combination.
Nuke throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Eppinga stuns Nuke with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Eppinga misses with a low kick.
Eppinga shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nuke is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Eppinga rather than just go for the knockout.
Nuke keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Nuke lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Eppinga backs up against the cage.

Eppinga will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Nuke lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Nuke shoots in looking for a takedown. Eppinga tries to sprawl out of it but Nuke keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Eppinga manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bertus Eppinga is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Nuke unloads a knee to the mid-section. Eppinga lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nuke crunches a lovely knee into Eppinga's ribcage.

Eppinga stuffs the takedown.
Nuke thows a body kick. Eppinga tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Nuke rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Eppinga moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nuke stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nuke wants it to stay on the feet.
Chase Nuke seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Nuke scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Nuke lands a front kick.
Nuke throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Eppinga.

Eppinga closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Eppinga wants to stand up but Nuke has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Nuke looks like he's trying to stand up.

Eppinga wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nuke keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nuke makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Nuke throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nuke throws a right and a left that both miss.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Eppinga throws a nice looking combination but Nuke bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Chase Nuke is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Nuke shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Eppinga sprawls well. Eppinga wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nuke gets slowly back to his feet.
Bertus Eppinga has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Chase Nuke comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nuke has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
