The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
kamahori stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and kamahori wants it to stay on the feet.
kamahori leaves Fernandez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

kamahori throws a sloppy head kick and Fernandez moves out of range easily.
Fernandez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck kamahori on the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters circle momentarily. Fernandez darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Fernandez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

kamahori manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fernandez manages to get himself to full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
kamahori throws a series of punches but Fernandez avoids them all with ease.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from kamahori .
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Camerino Fernandez will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Fernandez makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Fernandez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. kamahori manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

kamahori working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fernandez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fernandez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

kamahori is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
